Job Description

Staff Accountant Job Summary This is a dynamic and challenging Staff Accountant position offering an opportunity for professional growth within a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital role in supporting the accounting and finance department by contributing to critical financial processes, including monthly closes, quarterly financial reporting, tax reporting, and assisting with both internal and external audits. Job Responsibilities Support the close and consolidation of Nidec Minster and its US and foreign subsidiaries, including preparing necessary journal entries, preparing monthly account reconciliations, and preparing supporting schedules. Review intercompany activity and partner with locations to reconcile intercompany balances monthly. Assist in the maintenance of fixed asset records, including tracking costs of construction projects in progress, and performing asset observations. Perform ad hoc accounting duties as needed for cost accounting, AR and AP. Compile and analyze financial data for required federal, state, and local tax reporting. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits. Research and interpret accounting data as part of required analysis and in response to inquiries. Consistently evaluate business processes to identify and implement process improvements with existing and new systems and technology. Collaborate with Accounting and Finance team members and other members of the organization on various internal and cross-functional projects. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting 1-2 years post-graduate and/or internship experience in a similar role, preferably with some experience in a manufacturing environment Must be detail-oriented, extremely accurate and have exceptional organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills Self-starter with high performance standards Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Preferred, but not required: Modern global ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Familiarity with IFRS accounting regulations An equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, M/F/D/V Nidec Minster will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
