Senior Accountant Location:

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing wholesale lumber company in the Springfield area. This role reports directly to the director of accounting and is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely production of monthly financial statements Monitor actual spending against budgeted allocations and provide variance analysis Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company accounting policies Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to minimize risk of errors, omissions, and fraud Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure daily and weekly tasks are completed accurately and on schedule Assist with the preparation of the annual budget
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred Proven experience in financial reporting and general ledger management Strong knowledge of GAAP Experience developing and enforcing internal controls Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
