Stow, OH Job Details $50,000 - $57,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Research Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Summary of Position The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Scope Perform core accounting functions - including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting support - in accordance with established accounting policies, internal controls, and monthly close deadlines. Work is primarily transactional and support-level, performed under the review and guidance of senior accounting staff, with increasing autonomy as proficiency develops. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Reconcile cash sheet weekly and balance sheet accounts monthly Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits as needed Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Help maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation records Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records Support external auditors during annual audits by providing requested documentation Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned Assist with Cost Accounting as proficiency develops Preferred Education/Experience/Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required) 1 to 4 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Proficient in MS Excel and ERP software Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Sense of urgency and ability to deliver expected results Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

N/A Physical Requirements This role is typically performed in an office setting with standard business hours. Occasional overtime may be required during month-end close, quarter-end close, and audit periods. While performing the duties of this job one would occasionally be required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus. Job duties will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require visits to the production floor.
