The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining fixed asset records, managing construction pay applications, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and providing leadership in accounting functions within a construction and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with multi-entity accounting and proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Financial Reporting & General Accounting Manage day-to-day accounting activities for five related entities. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Perform account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Prepare and post journal entries and accruals. Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis. Multi-Entity Accounting Maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies and intercompany transactions. Reconcile intercompany accounts and prepare consolidated financial reporting as needed. Ensure consistency in accounting practices and procedures among all entities. Support management with financial reporting and operational insights. Fixed Asset Management Maintain fixed asset schedules for construction and manufacturing operations. Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation. Reconcile fixed asset subledgers to the general ledger. Support physical inventory and asset verification processes. Assist with capital expenditure tracking and reporting. Construction Accounting & Pay Applications • preferred Prepare, review, and process construction pay applications and progress billings. Track project costs, retainage, and work-in-progress schedules. Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate project accounting. Monitor contract compliance and billing requirements. Assist with job cost reporting and profitability analysis. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support Assist with oversight of accounts payable and receivable functions. Review vendor payments and customer billing processes for accuracy. Support cash flow monitoring and management reporting. Audit, Tax & Compliance Assist with external audits, tax preparation, and year-end reporting requirements. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for auditors and tax professionals. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Systems & Process Improvement Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to manage financial transactions and reporting. Develop and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Create and maintain financial reports for management decision-making. Support implementation of accounting best practices and process improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
