Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
PrideStaff, a staffing company in Bend, OR is seeking an Associate Accountant to prepare and file tax returns across multiple jurisdictions and provide indirect tax compliance support and serve as a subject matter expert for invoicing and exemption inquiries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage sales tax exemption documentation (collection, verification, archiving, retrieval, and compliance review). Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple tax jurisdictions; build corresponding tax reports. Analyze system-generated reports for accurate customer tax charges; review use tax reporting and reconcile sales tax general ledger accounts. Provide indirect tax compliance support and training to personnel on sales tax exemptions, use tax reporting, and invoice corrections. Maintain tax records, training documents, perform tax research, and support audits by taxing jurisdictions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (tax experience preferred). Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced PC skills, including Google suite (emphasis on Excel).
Desirable system knowledge:
NetSuite, Customer First, OneSource, Vertex, or similar tax determination engines, general ledger, and ERP systems. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; active listening and professional drafting abilities. Strong attention to detail. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport and maintain professional relationships (both internally and externally). Excellent phone and people skills for supporting inquiries. Proven ability to manage work assignments through prioritization and time management.
