This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and financial acumen in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement. As an integral part of our organization, you will contribute to maintaining precise financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing processes. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable records. Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to support effective financial management. Oversee accounts payable and payroll processing while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. Assist with internal and external audits by providing detailed documentation and supporting schedules. Support regulatory reporting requirements, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other governmental filings. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient data entry and reporting. Conduct financial report writing and interpretation to aid management in strategic planning. Mentor junior staff members on accounting best practices, technical accounting issues, and professional development. Proven experience as an accountant with a strong background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting. Extensive knowledge of
GAAP, SOX
compliance, and securities law as they pertain to financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or equivalent systems; familiarity with Quicken is a plus. Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, journal entries, and accrual accounting methods. Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Experience with financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently. Strong communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments. Knowledge of regulatory standards related to nonprofit operations or government agencies is advantageous. Technical accounting expertise combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
