Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction & Property Accountant to join our commercial development and property management company. This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in construction accounting, commercial real estate accounting, and multi-entity financial management. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently in a fast-paced office environment while managing accounting operations across multiple construction projects and properties. Strong communication skills, responsiveness, efficiency, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure are essential.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple company entities and construction projects Process accounts payable and receivable Collect rent payments and manage tenant accounts for all managed properties Prepare and process monthly contractor/vendor payment packages for approval and signature Review invoices for accuracy and ensure all invoices are billed to the correct entity and project Follow up with vendors to correct billing discrepancies and obtain required documentation Prepare monthly cash flow reports and financial reporting Process payroll and work within ADP payroll systems Prepare and file 1099s and assist with year-end accounting coordination Coordinate with CPA firms regarding tax and financial reporting documentation Track job costing, construction draws, project expenses, change orders, and project financials Maintain vendor compliance documentation including W-9s, lien releases, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor paperwork Monitor rent increases, lease administration items, and tenant billing updates Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and project financial records Maintain organized accounting records across multiple active projects and properties Monitor and respond to emails consistently throughout the workday Professionally answer and manage incoming phone calls Utilize QuickBooks and Excel extensively for reporting and financial management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Minimum 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction and/or commercial real estate development Extensive QuickBooks experience and advanced working knowledge is
REQUIRED
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting Experience with ADP payroll systems Experience with Tungsten invoicing platform preferred Strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, project accounting, and multi-entity financial management Knowledge of commercial real estate financials, cap rates, and lease administration preferred Strong computer and technology skills required Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage deadlines efficiently Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision Positive attitude and professional demeanor Strong organizational, follow-up, and communication skills Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations Must be highly responsive, efficient, and capable of managing a large volume of work accurately and quickly We are looking for a dependable, experienced, and highly efficient professional who can help maintain organized and accurate accounting operations across our commercial construction and property management portfolio.
