Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our organization in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records, overseeing core accounting activities, and delivering timely reporting that helps leadership make informed decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities across routine close activities and broader financial planning support.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting transactions by reviewing accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and providing guidance to support consistent processing across the department.
  • Monitor cash position through regular forecasting, compare projected and actual spending, and review banking activity to maintain visibility into liquidity.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and manage credit card accounting to ensure balances, expenses, and supporting records remain accurate and current.
  • Partner with finance and operations leaders to identify urgent disbursement needs, develop a weekly payment plan, and process approved vendor payments.
  • Prepare journal entries and lead month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts and validation of financial data before final reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing postings, correcting discrepancies, and supporting compliance with organizational policies and tax requirements.
  • Produce recurring month-end financial reports for management and help explain results through clear and reliable accounting information.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasting by compiling financial data, supporting analysis, and assisting leadership with planning activities.
  • Take ownership of special assignments and provide ad hoc accounting support as operational priorities evolve.
