Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Record and review journal entries to keep the general ledger accurate and current throughout each reporting cycle.
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with monthly close activities to support timely and reliable financial statements.
- Contribute to day-to-day accounting operations, including payable and receivable support, cash activity tracking, and fixed asset recordkeeping.
- Handle inventory-related accounting by examining balances, researching differences, and processing necessary adjustments.
- Assist with cost accounting tasks by analyzing production-related expenses such as labor, materials, and overhead variances.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and highlight notable changes or unusual trends for management review.
- Reconcile bank activity, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Provide support for external audits, tax filings, and other compliance-driven financial reporting needs.
- Work with cross-functional partners to investigate discrepancies, strengthen controls, and improve accounting workflows. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and month-end close procedures.
- Experience completing account reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP or other accounting systems.
- Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to resolve issues independently.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance and operational teams.
