Job Description

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Pittsburgh, PA (Northeastern Suburbs) $65,000- $75,0000 + Bonus Our client is a privately owned, growing organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will play an important role in accounts receivable, collections, cash management, tax administration, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on accounting environment.
OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE
Manage the full accounts receivable process, including posting payments, account maintenance, and collections Oversee collections of approximately $1.2M–$1.6M per month and prepare weekly cash collection reports Perform monthly bank reconciliations for four accounts and ensure completion by the 2nd–5th business day Reconcile accounts receivable and customer accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies Support the month-end close process and assist with various account reconciliations Manage customer tax information through Avalara, including new customer setup and exemption certificate maintenance Process daily deposits and transfers between company bank accounts Monitor credit card processing and assist with daily cash management Provide backup support for customer invoicing and other accounting functions as needed Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close Experience with collections and cash management preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Ability to learn and work effectively within accounting systems EB-1219354396
