full-time About the Company We are partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing company to identify a Cost Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys getting beyond the numbers, understanding how a business operates, and partnering directly with manufacturing and operations teams. About the Role The Cost Accountant will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of inventory and manufacturing costs while providing financial information that helps leadership make better operational decisions. This is a hands-on position with exposure to both the accounting function and the manufacturing floor. Responsibilities Analyze and reconcile raw material and finished goods inventory. Monitor production activity, inventory transactions, manufacturing expenses, and product costs. Maintain and analyze labor, overhead, and other manufacturing cost rates. Participate in physical inventory counts, investigate variances, and help improve inventory accuracy. Prepare inventory, usage, margin, and manufacturing performance reporting. Analyze gross profit and manufacturing cost trends and communicate significant variances to management. Assist with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and other month-end close responsibilities. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, depreciation, and account reconciliations. Reconcile sales and cost of goods sold accounts and assist with related reporting. Partner closely with Operations and Production to understand manufacturing processes and resolve costing or inventory discrepancies. Help identify opportunities to improve accounting, inventory, and operational processes.
