Job Description

Responsible for general/cost accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and account and bank reconciliations. Assist with monthly closings and account analysis. Supports the Accounting Supervisor in fulfilling the responsibilities of the accounting department. Responsible for the efficient operation of the Payroll and Accounts Payable functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the Accounts Payable Department. Reviews invoices and supply requisitions for correct coding. Oversees the Payroll Department to include year end W2, 1099, and 1095C reporting. Maintenance of the 401k database and bi-weekly, monthly, and annual 401K/403B reporting. Backup for management payroll. Prepare journal entries for bi-weekly payroll, monthly and annual closing, and account reconciliation as needed. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts. 340B account reconciliation. Provides daily deposit report to A/R Supervisor for monies not deposited not keyed account reconciliation purposes. Behavioral Health and Grant Billing and maintains detailed records for all grant expenditures. Completes monthly financial statements, department cost reports and other cost reports as requested. Completes annual budget and other grant budgets as needed. Completes Medicare Cost Budget and other grant budgets as needed. Completes annual inventory and other year end closings and 401K and financial audit preparation. Completes annual UDS report. Competes EEOC-1 and other mandatory government surveys. Cross trained in Purchasing, Payroll, and Accounts Payable. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting and knowledge of general/cost accounting principles and practices. Key competencies to include attention to accuracy and detail; planning, organizing, teamwork and initiative; effective communication skills; problem analysis and problem-solving skills; and confidentiality.
