Full-Time, Direct Hire The Opportunity Our client is an established construction company (roughly $50M+ in annual revenue) that recently became part of a larger global organization
- and with new ownership comes a rare opening: the chance to be the accounting lead at the local level and build the function the right way from the ground up. This is not a seat in a big, layered accounting department. You'll be the go-to accounting professional at this location, reporting directly to a Regional Controller who will support you
- while you own project accounting, financial reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition for the business.
You'll also supervise and develop one direct report handling AP/AR. If you like inheriting a perfectly polished process, this isn't for you. If you want to evaluate what exists, implement controls, make the numbers visible, and put your fingerprints on how a business runs its accounting

What You'll Own Project accounting &
PoC:
Percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP analysis, job costing, and project profitability reporting Month-end close: Lead a fast close (1-day close cadence) with Day 1 corporate reporting
- margin, revenue, and WIP analysis
- followed by a short adjustment window and monthly business reviews with senior leadership (you'll help prep the materials) Financial reporting: Monthly, quarterly, and annual financials; variance analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods Process building: The department is being rebuilt under new ownership
- you'll help evaluate current processes, stand up internal controls, and improve visibility as the company transitions to new corporate reporting requirements Team leadership: Supervise, review, and develop an accounting associate covering AP and AR Audit support: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA progress a plus) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience•construction industry strongly preferred Hands-on experience with percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting Full-cycle accounting and month-end close ownership, ideally under tight corporate deadlines Comfortable in a lean environment•currently on QuickBooks, with systems evolution ahead as the company integrates with its new parent Someone who can manage one person well and operate with support from (not dependence on) a regional controller Advanced Excel; strong analytical and communication skills
