About Field Development Field Development is a growing vertically integrated developer and builder of apartment communities across the Mid-Atlantic. Headquartered in York, PA. Our team brings 90+ years of combined development, construction, and property management experience, with 3,000+ apartments in the portfolio and pipeline, including newly built communities in York, PA, and Martinsburg, WV. We value professionalism, efficiency, and long-term thinking. Position Summary As Staff Accountant, you'll report directly to the Controller. You'll be responsible for core accounting functions of Field Properties (Property Management division), including: Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and process accounts payable and fixed asset invoices.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and make necessary journal entries.
  • Review, maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts (prepaids, accruals, accounts receivable).
  • Play integral role with monthly accounting close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements and monthly reporting.
  • Recommend process improvements and best practices in financial controls.
  • Manage capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting.
  • Support payroll documentation, process payroll and benefits, and record necessary payroll entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and support accounting team in managing banking operations, construction loans, and mortgage refinancing.
  • Support and collaborate with auditors and tax accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Improve job knowledge by keeping up-to-date with new accounting and financial regulations and financial software applications. Participate in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
  • Delivering ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in accounting or finance (required).
  • 2+ years of solid, professional accounting experience.
  • Background in construction, property management, or real estate preferred. Software & Tools
  • Skilled in ERP accounting systems, Excel, and finance tools.
  • Knowledge in AppFolio or equivalent property management system (plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay:
$72,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
