Type:
full-time We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This position will play a key role in the month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and fixed asset management. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or other inventory-intensive environment. Key Responsibilities Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries. Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, capitalization, and fixed asset reconciliations. Maintain and reconcile construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely capitalization of completed projects. Perform inventory accounting and reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and partner with operations to resolve inventory-related issues. Analyze inventory balances, reserves, adjustments, COGS, and related account activity. Support physical inventory counts and cycle-count processes. Prepare accruals, prepaid expenses, and other recurring month-end entries. Perform P&L and balance sheet analysis and investigate significant variances. Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure accurate accounting treatment. Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Maintain compliance with GAAP and established internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Approximately 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong hands-on experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting required. Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Experience with inventory-intensive manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or similar environments preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and other analytical functions. Experience working within an ERP system required. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus but not required.
