Accounting & HR Support Staff About Us:
The NuVisions Center, established in 1945, began as a workshop for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, creating and selling goods door-to-door in Lewistown, PA. Over the decades, we've grown to support individuals with diverse abilities, providing janitorial, sewing, manufacturing, and customer service employment. We are partnered with UniqueSource, SourceAmerica, and are an affiliate of Cleanlogic. Our human services have expanded from our beginnings of offering education to blind students in their homes. The programs we now offer support a variety of individuals. Our goal is to assist the communities we serve wherever help is needed. Our human service partners include the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, VisionServe Alliance, and our local United Way of Mifflin-Juniata.
Position:
We are currently seeking a part-time Accounting & HR Staff member to work 25-30 hours per week. This role offers flexible hours and a supportive work environment.

Experience in
Accounting/Bookkeeping:
An associate degree, online course, or certification in Accounting or Business Administration, or at least five years of hands-on experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel and Word, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
HR Knowledge:
Basic understanding of HR functions or willingness to learn, including employee record management, payroll inquiries, and benefits administration. Medical billing experience is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage invoices, accounts payable/receivable, and track expenses and income. Maintain accurate financial and employee records, ensuring timely financial, state, and federal reporting. Partner with department managers and supervisors to prepare, review, and process payroll. Perform HR tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits tracking. Support general HR activities, such as compliance with labor laws. Assist in yearly contracts and catalog pricing updates. Filing and document organization. Prepare bank deposits.
