Delaware County, PA Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office) Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting) in Delaware County, PA for our client, supporting corporate accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger activities, and regulatory reporting within a financial services environment. This role will prepare financial statements and reconciliations, support external reporting and audits, maintain internal controls, and contribute to accounting process improvements. The ideal candidate has public accounting or insurance industry experience with strong GAAP knowledge and exposure to SEC or statutory financial reporting. Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting):
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements, supporting workpapers, management reports, and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements.
Month-End Close:
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger analyses, and supporting schedules for monthly and quarterly close processes.
Regulatory Reporting:
Support SEC filings, statutory financial reporting, and other regulatory accounting requirements.
Internal Controls:
Maintain accounting controls, reconcile key accounts to supporting records, and identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes.
Audit Support:
Prepare documentation and financial information for annual audits, budgeting activities, and other accounting initiatives.
Process Improvement:
Partner with accounting leadership to improve close procedures, reporting workflows, financial systems, and overall accounting efficiency. Qualifications for the Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting):
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Certification:
CPA certification or active progress toward the CPA is preferred.
Experience:
2-5 years of public accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, or related accounting experience is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Public accounting or insurance industry experience is strongly preferred, with SEC reporting and statutory accounting knowledge preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting systems proficiency is required, with Oracle or comparable ERP system experience preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, leadership, attention to detail, and time management skills are required.
