Description:
The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Property Accountant to join our growing real estate investment platform and play an important role in the financial management and reporting of a diversified portfolio of real estate assets. This is an opportunity for a junior real estate accounting professional to move beyond transactional property accounting and become a meaningful financial partner to Asset Management, Property Management and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting capabilities and genuine intellectual curiosity about the underlying real estate assets represented by the numbers. You will have meaningful ownership of the monthly close and financial reporting process for an assigned portfolio. For the right individual, this role offers the opportunity to build a broader understanding of the real estate investment lifecycle and assume increasing responsibility as the platform and portfolio continue to grow. What You'll Do Own Property-Level Accounting & Reporting Own the monthly close process for a portfolio of assigned real estate assets, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting. Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies. Maintain a high standard of organization, documentation, and internal control across the assigned portfolio. Ensure accounting practices are consistent with established policies, procedures, and internal controls. Help continuously strengthen the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the firm's financial reporting infrastructure. Work Environment This position is 100% in-office, Monday through Friday, in Radnor, Pennsylvania with the expectation that the office will be relocating to center city Philadelphia by 2Q27. We value collaboration, accountability, high standards, and the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organization. The role is designed for someone who enjoys being part of a team, building relationships, and contributing directly to a growing real estate investment platform.
Requirements:
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who combines technical accounting strength with commercial curiosity - someone who doesn't simply reconcile an account, but wants to understand why the number moved and what it means for the asset.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, with meaningful experience in real estate accounting. Strong understanding of full-cycle property accounting and financial reporting. Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, accruals, reconciliations, A/P, A/R, cash management, and financial statement preparation. Yardi experience strongly preferred. Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work effectively with complex financial data and supporting schedules. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes. Exceptional attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business objective. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work with senior internal and external stakeholders. Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and discretion. Ability to manage multiple assets, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to continue developing both technically and professionally.
