Job Description

Description Senior Cost Accountant A client of ours is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant for a contract role to support cost accounting activities across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for costing, cost analysis, inventory oversight, PPV evaluation, and pricing correction while partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting accuracy and drive financial performance. Responsibilities of Senior Cost Accountant + Support month-end close, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and cost-related reporting + Perform detailed cost analysis, including review of production variances and gross profit trends + Manage and maintain standard costing, including cost rolls and product cost analysis + Analyze purchase price variances (PPV), identify root causes, and provide actionable insights + Oversee inventory accounting, including physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory valuation analysis + Lead pricing correction initiatives to ensure alignment between cost structures and pricing strategies + Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions + Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to improve costing accuracy and operational efficiency + Prepare reporting and analysis for management, audits, and year-end requirements + Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting Requirements Skills/Qualifications of Senior Cost Accountant + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 5+ years of experience in a cost accounting role with manufacturing industry experience. + Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with SOX compliance requirements + Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and multi-team environments + Strong project management capabilities, including organization, initiative, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through on deadlines + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Solid accounting knowledge with strengths in financial review, analysis, and reporting + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple priorities simultaneously + Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop solutions + Proficiency in computer systems and data analysis tools, including advanced Excel skills + Experience with ERP systems, with SAP preferred; familiarity with Baan or Hyperion (HFM) is a plus If you are interested in this or similar Senior Cost Accountant roles, please contact Bernadette Komatick at 484.254.9060 for additional information and reference JO#03710-0013443726 Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
