Staff Accountant Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports the Corporate Accounting team by performing routine accounting activities including SOX internal control documentation, monthly close tasks, inter-company reconciliations, audit support, and preparation of internal and external financial reporting. The role develops competency in standard accounting processes while contributing to accurate and timely financial information under direct supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain assigned Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation and ensure key controls are performed as required. Perform revenue testing, SSAE16 service organization control reviews, quarterly signoffs, and other compliance tasks. Participate in the monthly close process, including reconciling inter-company activity and preparing related reports. Maintain and update the lease accounting database and accounting schedules. Assist with statutory international audits and financial tie-outs. Contribute to the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and related analytical reporting. Support external reporting by assisting in corporate information packages and footnote disclosures. Prepare government surveys and file after managerial review. Utilize SAP, Hyperion, and data retrieval tools to complete assigned tasks. Provide support to internal and external auditors. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience. Basic knowledge of accounting standards, practices, and procedures. Basic understanding of SOX internal control requirements. Proficiency with PC software and standard business systems. Ability to follow established procedures and apply limited judgment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
