The Staff Accountant will play an important role within the accounting team, supporting a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, AIA billing, reconciliations, month-end close, and union payroll. Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities Process and code vendor invoices and ensure proper approvals and documentation Prepare and submit AIA billings, pay applications, and related documentation Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely project billing Assist with union payroll processing , including reviewing timecards, wage rates, deductions, and union requirements The Staff Accountant will perform bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close activities Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Assist with financial reporting and construction-related accounting projects Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and respond to vendor and internal inquiries The Staff Accountant will support audits and provide documentation as neededQUALIFICATIONS OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE
2+ years of accounting experience Previous construction accounting experience required Experience with AIA billing and/or union payroll strongly preferred Experience working with an ERP or accounting software system Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Solid understanding of accounting principles and full-cycle accounting processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines EB-2037463490Benefits
