We are looking for an accomplished Senior Accountant to join a finance team and help maintain accurate, timely financial reporting. This role supports core accounting operations, contributes to period-end close activities, and delivers analysis that helps leadership understand business performance. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead major portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle to ensure financial data is recorded completely and on schedule.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, account adjustments, and reclassification activity with a high degree of accuracy.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, research discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Compile financial statements and management reporting packages, then review results to highlight notable trends and fluctuations.
• Analyze budget-to-actual and period-over-period variances and provide clear explanations to finance leadership and business partners.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including asset additions, retirements, and depreciation tracking.
• Support broader accounting operations such as payables, receivables, cash activity, audit preparation, and tax support as needed.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting efficiency while assisting with special projects and mentoring entry-level staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibilities aligned with a Senior Accountant level role.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements and related management reports.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and build useful reporting tools.
• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP platforms and the ability to learn new systems efficiently.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
