Job Summary Salary Range:

$95,000 to $105,000 dependent upon education and experience. A 6% Annual Target Bonus is also included with this position. The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and maintaining product costs, inventory valuation, manufacturing performance metrics, and operational financial reporting. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance leadership to provide actionable insights that improve profitability, support cost reduction initiatives, and ensure the integrity of cost accounting processes. The position serves as the subject matter expert for standard costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory analysis while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Cost Accounting & Product Costing Maintain and analyze standard costs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and product cost structures. Perform annual and periodic standard cost updates. Support new product costing, profitability analysis, and pricing decisions. Ensure accurate product cost valuation within

SAP S/4HANA

systems. Manufacturing Finance & Variance Analysis Analyze labor, material, overhead, scrap, yield, and production variances. Investigate root causes of manufacturing inefficiencies and provide recommendations for corrective action. Develop and monitor key manufacturing KPIs. Present cost performance results to Finance and Operations leadership. Inventory Management Monitor inventory valuation and reserve calculations. Support cycle count programs and physical inventories. Analyze inventory accuracy and identify inventory-related risks and opportunities. Reconcile inventory balances and resolve discrepancies. Financial Planning & Analysis Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning. Perform budget-to-actual analysis and explain significant variances. Develop financial models to support operational and strategic initiatives. Cost Reduction & Business Partnership Identify and quantify cost savings opportunities. Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams on continuous improvement projects. Support productivity initiatives, sourcing decisions, and capital investments with financial analysis. Track and report realized savings from cost reduction programs. Reporting & Systems Develop and maintain cost reporting and financial dashboards. Support SAP costing and other financial systems enhancements. Improve reporting automation and data accuracy. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP requirements. All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree in accounting.
  • Five plus (5+) years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Experience using SAP GUI (not Fiori) in a manufacturing environment. (S/4HANA preferred)
  • Working knowledge of standard costing, financial inventory controls and GAAP are required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (Functions, Pivot Tables, Complex Formulas, etc)
  • Must be able to communicate, both written and verbal with all levels of plant management.
