Job Summary Established Transportation and Construction Company is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of our accounting records, and supporting executive leadership with timely financial information. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in managing accounting processes within a fast-paced operational environment. Some essential job duties will include (but not limited to): Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist with fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Prepare schedules and documents for external audits and coordinate with auditors by preparing requested schedules and documentation. Prepare other regulatory filings as required. Support cash management and account reconciliations. Analyze financial results and investigate account variances. Analyze equipment utilization and operating costs. Collaborate with operations and management and department leaders to provide financial insights that support business decisions. Assist with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, when applicable. Train, mentor and support accounting staff as needed. Support special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in transportation, trucking, construction, logistics, or a related industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP or accounting software. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
