Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks, including tax preparation, expense processing, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with external accounting firms to manage and oversee tax-related projects.
• Process and approve employee expense statements in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct credit reference checks for potential new customers.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations, budget preparation, and financial analysis.
• Handle statutory reporting requirements for the company's truck fleet.
• Manage weekly accounts payable processing in coordination with the accounts payable team.
• Cross-train with team members to provide backup support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and material receiving functions.
• Support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with special projects as needed.
