Job Description

Job Overview Our single family office is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is a perfect fit for a professional with a strong bookkeeping background and a solid understanding of investments. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across a variety of entities, including investment partnerships, trusts, and personal accounts. This role will also assist the office manager with the administrative needs of the office. You will be expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Multi-Entity Bookkeeping Daily Transaction Management:
Record daily financial activity and manage comprehensive full-charge bookkeeping, including accounts payable (BillPay) and cash flow tracking.
Account Reconciliation:
Perform timely reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and complex investment portfolios across various entities.
Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain accurate general ledgers, identifying discrepancies, investigating missing transactions, and ensuring overall data integrity.
Software & Data Management:
Leverage accounting software, advanced spreadsheets, and databases to optimize financial tracking and reporting.
Administrative & Project Support Office Administration:
Assist with core administrative tasks, including maintaining corporate records, managing calendars, and handling specialized correspondence.
Ad Hoc Projects:
Support the executive team with financial analysis, project management, and specialized reporting as required.
Qualifications & Requirements Core Requirements Accounting Fundamentals:
A rock-solid understanding of double-entry accounting, financial statements, and general ledger maintenance is strictly required.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience navigating accounting software.
Discretion & Professionalism:
Proven experience handling highly sensitive, confidential financial and personal information with the utmost integrity.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a sharp attention to detail.
Adaptability:
A flexible mindset and the willingness to pivot between structured financial tasks and dynamic, ad hoc office demands. Preferred Experience (A Plus) Prior experience within a law firm environment (specifically dealing with trusts and estates) , public accounting environment (high net worth), or within banking/asset management.
