Job Description

Accountant / Accounting Specialist The Accountant / Accounting Specialist will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing safety training, consulting, and equipment management company. This position will focus heavily on accounts payable and accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, expense tracking, and inventory-related accounting. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of accounting experience, strong QuickBooks skills, and the ability to work independently in a growing small-business environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow with the company and gradually take on additional responsibilities.

Hunt Valley, MD Compensation:
$55,000-$65,000
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; Hybrid, ideally 4 days onsite/1 day remote Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Generate invoices for equipment sales and training contracts Process vendor invoices and apply customer payments Reconcile accounts receivable with company technology and customer records Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Track company expenses and assist with employee expense reporting Assist with inventory tracking, costing, and related accounting activities Support payroll processing and related accounting functions Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with sales tax and other tax compliance requirements Work with outsourced accounting partners and company leadership as needed Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting issues Maintain organized financial files and documentation Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the company continues to grow Qualifications 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience, with strong AP and AR experience Accounting education or degree preferred QuickBooks experience required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Inventory accounting or inventory management experience strongly preferred Experience working in a distribution or small-business environment preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Ability and interest to grow with a developing accounting function Must be local to the Hunt Valley, MD area and comfortable working primarily onsite Benefits Opportunity to join a growing company expanding through organic growth and acquisitions Direct exposure to company leadership and the overall accounting function Opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and grow with the company Collaborative small-business environment Hybrid flexibility with an emphasis on onsite collaboration LA123
