Job Summary This role manages general ledger and subsidiary ledger activities across agency programs and funding sources. You'll partner closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, support payroll and grant accounting, and maintain compliance. What You'll Do (Clear tasks. Real impact.) Review monthly financial statements and detailed general ledger activity to identify errors, omissions, or misclassifications Prepare and record journal adjustments; collaborate with Accounting Specialists and managers to validate corrections Review, post, and validate accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accurate general ledger reporting Prepare general journal entries and month-end close entries; review postings to ensure proper allocation to direct and indirect programs Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple organizations using UKG, validating earnings, deductions, and benefits Prepare and post monthly payroll journal entries across multiple legal entities Calculate and record payroll accruals, labor allocations, and pension allocations Perform quarterly expense reconciliations and resolve variances Manage fiscal activity for assigned grants, ensuring alignment with budget, funding, and compliance requirements Review Requests for Funds (RFFs) prepared by Accounting Specialists prior to submission Reconcile assigned bank accounts and resolve reconciling items Partner with Business Intelligence Analysts and managers to produce budget variance analyses and resolve discrepancies Prepare audit worksheets and supporting schedules for independent and funding-specific audits Support compliance with federal, state, and program-specific financial regulations, including Ohio Department of Aging requirements Serve as operational back-up for Accounting Specialists, the Controller, and Accounting Manager during peak periods Develop and maintain desk manuals, accounting policies, and procedures Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed What Makes This Role Different Proof, not promises. 50+ years of trusted service supporting older adults in Southwestern Ohio Accounting team members manage their work with real autonomy and trust Mission-aligned financial work that directly sustains community impact Strong cross-team collaboration.
