Job Description

Job Summary Barrister Global Services Network, Inc. is seeking a results-driven, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage core accounting operations including the month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, audit preparation, and system/process improvements. This high-impact role supports operations and works closely with finance leadership, operations, and auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial results. Core Responsibilities Month-End Close & General Accounting
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with
U.S. GAAP.
  • Manage balance sheet account reconciliations and identify/prevent discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documentation to support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of daily banking and credit card activity. Inventory & Cost Accounting
  • Maintain inventory valuation, COGS tracking, and costing methods (e.g., FIFO, weighted average).
  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to reconcile inventory movement and part usage.
  • Support fleet accounting (ASC842), fixed asset tracking, and forecasting.
  • Reconcile eCommerce platform data (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, PayPal) with accounting systems. Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Oversee full-cycle A/P and A/R including invoice processing, payment application, and collections.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, chargebacks, and variances in cash application.
  • Monitor vendor and customer records, purchase orders, and sales orders in ERP. Compliance, Controls & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, sales tax regulations, and internal control policies.
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Support sales tax filings and regulatory submissions across multiple states and jurisdictions. Reporting & Analysis
  • Produce financial statements, reports, and variance analyses.
  • Support ad hoc financial modeling and management reporting as needed.
  • Assist with budget preparation and quarterly forecasting. Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • CPA designation (preferred but not mandatory) Experience
  • 5-7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting or controller- track role
  • Hands-on experience with external audits and financial reporting
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms, inventory-heavy environments, or IT services a plus Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks Online and NetSuite (required or preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
  • Familiarity with expense systems such as Concur or AMEX reconciliation (a plus)
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, sales tax nexus, and multi-state tax compliance Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working independently in a remote/hybrid environment
  • Able to explain financial concepts to cross-functional stakeholders

  • Industry exposure in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), IT services, or manufacturing
  • Experience forecasting fleet and part usage costs
  • Demonstrated ability to spot errors, improve process efficiencies, and recommend system enhancements
  • Experience supporting ERP migrations or accounting system upgrades Work Environment
