Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including data entry of transactions into accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support financial reporting by analyzing account data, preparing spreadsheets for Excel data analysis, and assisting with financial statement preparation. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and customer service inquiries professionally. Assist with internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and audit preparations. Utilize various financial software such as Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline accounting workflows. Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy across multiple systems like Paychex, Governmental accounting software, or Public accounting tools. Support budgeting activities and perform credit analysis as needed to aid financial decision-making processes. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems; experience with financial software like Workday or UltiPro is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles is highly desirable. Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP or Ceridian; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel for data analysis is essential. Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation and balance sheet management. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and account analysis. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Public accounting experience or familiarity with SOX compliance will be considered advantageous. Demonstrated ability to adapt to various accounting systems like PeopleSoft or Kronos; strong technical accounting knowledge is preferred.
