Job Description

Company Overview Seacoast Solutions for Business provides comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services to a diverse portfolio of over 80 clients across multiple industries. We are committed to delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information that supports our clients' business success. Position Summary The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions for multiple client accounts. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supports month-end and quarter-end close processes, and delivers consistent, GAAP-compliant financial reporting. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate general ledger activity for multiple client accounts Classify and record financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, accruals, and liabilities Review and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation Ensure proper coding and consistency across all client financial data Maintain organized and audit ready financial records Account Reconciliation Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, payables, and other key accounts Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation Financial Reporting Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including: Balance Sheet Profit & Loss Statement Statement of Cash Flows Analyze financial results and identify variances or inconsistencies Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and delivered within established timelines Assist in providing financial insights to support client decision-making Month-End & Quarter-End Close Execute month-end close processes for multiple clients, typically by the second week of each month Prepare and review adjusting journal entries Ensure all transactions are recorded and reconciled prior to close Support quarter-end reporting requirements as needed Vendor & Compliance Support Maintain vendor records, including collection and organization of W-9 forms Prepare and assist with 1099 reporting in compliance with IRS requirements Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and external regulatory standards Support audit requests by providing accurate documentation and reports Process Improvement & Documentation Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficiencies Recommend and implement process enhancements Develop and maintain standardized procedures and documentation Contribute to best practices across the accounting team Client & Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with internal team members and, when appropriate, clients Provide status updates and proactively address issues or delays Collaborate to ensure consistent service delivery across all accounts Support cross-functional initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) 2-5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles Experience managing multiple clients or entities is strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and general office applications Core Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities High level of accountability and ownership of work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong interpersonal and communication skills Performance Expectations Deliver accurate monthly financial statements within established deadlines Maintain clean and fully reconciled balance sheet accounts Ensure all client records are complete, organized, and audit-ready Demonstrate consistent accuracy with minimal errors or rework Effectively manage workload across multiple clients Proactively identify and resolve issues before escalation What Sets You Apart Experience in a multi-client or outsourced accounting environment Demonstrated ability to improve processes and increase efficiency Strong business acumen and ability to interpret financial data Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and client service excellence
