Job Description

Job Title:
Binational Accountant - U.S. & Mexico including Maquila /
IMMEX Operations Profile Summary:
A bilingual (English/Spanish) accounting professional with knowledge of both U.S. GAAP and Mexican accounting and tax frameworks applicable to IMMEX (maquiladora) entities. Experienced in coordinating cross-border financial operations and compliance for manufacturing companies operating in Mexico under the IMMEX program. Skilled in intercompany transactions and local accounting process requirements in both the US and Mexico entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting Assist in normal daily accounting activities in both the US and Mexico in accordance with both U.S. GAAP and Mexican NIF (Normas de Información Financiera). Support monthly closings, journal entries, and reconciliations in both the U.S. entities and Mexican subsidiaries. Ensure accurate translation of financial data and intercompany reporting consistency. Support Mexico operations in managing IMMEX and VAT certification compliance, including monitoring duties, exemptions, and import/export records. Liaise with other group companies and external auditors is ensure adherence to internal obligations and external reporting deadlines. Cross-Border Coordination Serve as a financial liaison between corporate finance teams in the U.S. and accounting teams in Mexico and Germany as needed. Translate financial requirements, align processes, and assist in the harmonization of SAP within the Mexico entities Support and or lead special projects for the implementation of SAP and related systems for the Mexico entities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in maquiladora or IMMEX operations. Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and Mexican NIF; experience reading and reconciling both. Familiarity with Mexican tax laws (IVA, ISR, DIOT) and
IMMEX/VAT
certification processes. Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish, written and spoken). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent attention to detail. Experience with ERP systems and cross-border reporting tools. Ability to work remotely or within company offices in
Wisconsin or Juarez, Mexico Preferred Experience:
Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred. Understanding of customs operations (pedimentos, temporary import/export rules)
