Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping services for multiple clients Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, payroll, and other balance-sheet accounts Prepare and post journal entries and adjusting entries Maintain general ledgers and investigate account discrepancies Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including compilations and write-ups Assist with bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up projects Prepare payroll tax and sales tax returns, as assigned Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve bookkeeping questions Work with the tax team to provide accurate year-end financial information Manage multiple client assignments and meet recurring deadlines Client contact will increase as the successful candidate becomes familiar with our clients, systems, and procedures.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Three to five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online experience Working knowledge of bank reconciliations, general ledgers, and adjusting entries Ability to identify inconsistencies and resolve accounting discrepancies Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills A dependable, collaborative, and client-service-oriented approach Experience in a public accounting firm is helpful but not required Payroll tax or sales tax experience is a plus Prior tax preparation experience is a plus but is not required A college degree is not required. We value practical experience, sound accounting skills, initiative, and a willingness to learn.SCHEDULE AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
This is a full-time, year-round hybrid position based in our Fort Wayne office. The position will initially require in-office work for training and onboarding. After training is completed, the regular hybrid schedule will include three days per week in the office. Additional hours are expected during tax season. Reduced summer hours provide greater flexibility outside of the firm's busiest season.WHAT WE OFFER
