  • Part-time Part-Time CPA / Accounting Manager Ponte Vedra, FL | Hybrid Remote/In Office | 20 Hours Per Week | Federal Construction & Infrastructure Reliance Construction is seeking an experienced Part-Time CPA / Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of our growing federal construction and infrastructure business.
This role is ideal for a highly organized accounting professional with experience in construction accounting, financial oversight, and operational reporting within a fast-paced project environment. The position will oversee and coordinate the company's accounting operations, which are primarily performed through an outsourced accounting firm and external CPA/accounting support personnel. The candidate will provide management and direction to external accounting staff handling day-to-day accounting activities, while supporting company leadership with financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, cash flow management, and overall operational financial oversight. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently while helping strengthen financial systems, accountability, and reporting processes across the organization. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and work-in-progress reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and reconciliations Manage and coordinate the work of external CPA/accounting contractors to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely deliverables Support company leadership with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis Monitor project financial performance, cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition processes Assist with audit preparation, tax coordination, and financial compliance requirements Evaluate accounting procedures and recommend process improvements to increase operational efficiency and financial visibility Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company financial controls Prepare and maintain accurate financial documentation, records, and reporting systems Support internal financial reporting and operational decision-making for leadership Assist with construction-related accounting functions including subcontractor tracking, job costing, and project financial reporting Coordinate with project management and operations teams regarding project financial status and reporting requirements Qualifications Active CPA license required Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably within construction, government contracting, or project-based industries Experience managing or coordinating accounting teams, contractors, or outsourced financial support personnel preferred Strong understanding of construction accounting principles including job costing, WIP reporting, project forecasting, and subcontractor management preferred Experience supporting federal contractors or government contracting environments strongly preferred Proficiency with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy and professionalism Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and operations teams High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential financial information Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Deltek, Procore, or related construction/accounting platforms is a plus Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week
