Cost Accountant Location:
Columbus, OH – Hybrid schedule
Salary:
$80,000–$100,000 We're partnering with a manufacturing company in the Columbus area to find a Cost Accountant to support plant operations with a strong focus on standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to deliver actionable cost insights and drive continuous improvement across the plant. Key Responsibilities of the
Cost Accountant:
Own full-cycle standard costing for manufacturing operations, including setup, maintenance, and analysis Analyze and report manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) on a weekly basis and lead process improvements related to cost controls Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations, purchase price variance (PPV) tracking, and related journal entries Partner cross-functionally with operations and management to translate cost and variance data into actionable insights Support month-end close activities related to inventory, cost accounting, and plant operations Ensure accuracy and compliance in cost and inventory reporting within a manufacturing ERP environment Preferred Qualifications of the
Cost Accountant:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related 5+ years of accounting experience Proven track record managing cost accounting processes and inventory accounting #
