Cost Accountant

Job Title:

Cost Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing manufacturing costs, developing standard costs, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) to enhance the financial efficiency of our growing company. Responsibilities Analyze manufacturing costs including raw materials, labor, and machine operations. Develop and maintain standard costs and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Perform variance analysis (actual vs. standard costs) and identify root causes. Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory valuation. Prepare cost reports, margin analysis, and financial summaries for leadership. Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities. Collaborate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to improve cost efficiency. Recommend cost-saving initiatives and process improvements. Essential Skills 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and production processes. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience in manufacturing or CNC/industrial environment preferred. Work Environment This position is based in Johnson Creek. The role offers a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days remote work. Our company is experiencing rapid growth, with expectations to triple in size within the next five years. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnson Creek, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
