Job Description
At SKC & Co. CPAs, we do accounting differently. We are a modern CPA firm focused on delivering proactive, high-value advisory and accounting services that help our clients make better decisions and grow with confidence. As we expand our footprint in Murrieta/Temecula Valley, California, we are seeking an experienced CPA Manager to help build and support our presence in Murrieta/Temecula Valley. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong, self-directed professional who enjoys ownership of client relationships, mentoring team members, and working across the full lifecycle of accounting and tax engagements. What You'll Do As a Manager at SKC, you will own client engagements from start to finish, including: Managing the full client accounting and tax cycle—from bank reconciliations through financial reporting, tax projections, and tax preparation Preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns Serving as the primary point of contact for client relationships Providing proactive tax planning and strategic guidance Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of client deliverables Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members Collaborating with partners and team members to continuously improve processes and client experience Leveraging technology to increase efficiency and enhance service delivery What You Bring Experience & Credentials Active CPA license required 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience Strong technical expertise in accounting and California state taxation Demonstrated experience managing engagements independently Professional Strengths Self-starter with strong self-management skills Ownership mindset—takes responsibility for client relationships and outcomes Team-oriented and willing to jump in wherever needed Strong mentor who enjoys supporting and developing others Comfortable working across all levels of engagement, from detailed accounting work to high-level advisory Technologically fluent and open to learning new tools and processes Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Why SKC Flexible schedule (full-time or part-time options available) Hybrid work environment Opportunity to help build and shape our Murrieta presence Collaborative, supportive team culture Opportunity to work closely with leadership and make a meaningful impact Modern, technology-forward firm focused on advisory and client success About SKC & Co.
