Orlando, FL Job Details Full-time $26.44 - $28.84 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Loan repayment program Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Bachelor's degree GAAP Bachelor's degree in accounting Full Job Description The District Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely fund-level financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement (after completion of training), Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. PFM's Orlando East location is on Quadrangle Boulevard near UCF. Candidates selected to interview will be subject to a skills assessment on reading financials and Microsoft Excel. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements and budget to actual report Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met Full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor communications to ensure timely and accurate disbursements Coordinate accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate billing, timely collection of payments, and reconciliation of accounts Ensure accurate and timely year-end close processes Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities Continuous management and support of budget activities Prepare for annual financial audit and correspond with auditor Correspond with property owners regarding non-ad valorem assessments Perform additional accounting duties as assigned, in support of overall financial operations and compliance. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college/university Two to three (2-3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in government or professional services Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles Knowledge of auditing practices and principles Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship Key Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reporting Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines Ability to plan effectively and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions independently Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with intermediate capabilities The District Accountant is eligible to receive robust total rewards including generous flexible paid time off, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, performance-based bonuses, 401k retirement plan with employer match and annual profit-sharing opportunity, medical/dental/vision insurance, health and wellness benefits, and disability and life insurance. The anticipated base pay for this role is between $26.44 and $28.84 per hour. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
