Job Description:
A multi-family office in New York City is seeking a Family Office Accountant due to recent growth! In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial support to high-net-worth individuals and their families while ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.
Note:
this role is in office four days per week and one day work from home (Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank accounts Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients Collaborate with other members of the finance team to resolve any issues and ensure the integrity of financial information Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field Minimum of 3-7+ years of relevant experience Experience with high net/ultra high net worth family office accounting strongly preferred Ability and experience to prepare financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow In depth understanding of GAAP rules and requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to clients Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software or ERP systems beyond Quickbooks is strongly preferred
