Job Responsibilities & Requirements A Brief Overview MiTek's Internship Program offers a paid, 12-week full-time experience designed for students nearing completion of their degree. Interns are paired with a Manager and Mentor to work on impactful projects and present final outcomes at the end of the program. The program includes networking opportunities, leadership exposure, and engagement in a hybrid work environment that fosters innovation and inclusivity. What You'll Gain Build real-world experience and professional skills. Learn from experienced mentors and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Contribute to meaningful projects that support MiTek's business objectives. Expand your professional network and industry knowledge. Gain exposure to accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and cost accounting. Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. Participate in process improvement and efficiency initiatives. Qualifications Pursuing an accounting degree, expected to graduate summer 2028 Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
Technical:
Basic Accounting Knowledge
  • Understanding of debits/credits, journal entries, and financial statements.
Technical:
Excel Proficiency
  • Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis. Familiarity with Accounting Software is a plus
  • QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems (even basic exposure helps). Data Entry Accuracy
  • Attention to detail when inputting financial data. Analytical Skills Problem-Solving Ability to identify discrepancies and suggest solutions. Time Management Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Organization Keeping financial records and documentation orderly. Soft Skills Communication
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when working with finance teams or explaining data. Teamwork
  • Collaborating with others in finance, audit, or operations. Adaptability
  • Willingness to learn and adjust to new tools or processes.
Physical Demands This role is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
