Full Job Description Position:

Fund Accountant Job Summary:

This position works on a team of administrators responsible for providing accounting, administration, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting services to investment companies and advisers. The role supports alternative investment clients, including hedge funds, private equity funds, CLOs, and other investment vehicles. The position serves as a trusted advisor to clients by continually assessing changing business needs and strategies while providing expertise, tools, and information to support their investment objectives. You will also act as an escalation point for assigned clients, directing issue resolution and process changes to support client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support a team of administrators responsible for accounting, administration, and investor servicing. Perform and review accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting activities for investment companies and advisers. Act as the escalation point for assigned clients and help resolve complex client issues. Proactively identify risk-related issues through review of qualitative and quantitative data. Anticipate potential obstacles and implement appropriate mitigating solutions. Review accounting and financial statement information provided for audit and tax reviews. Support documentation and setup of accounting principles for unusual or complex investment types. Set up and process complex expense and incentive fee calculations. Review and reconcile accounting and financial information. Support process improvements and changes based on client and business needs. Perform daily accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures, including maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of accounting statements and financial reports.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2-4 years of experience in the alternative investments industry, either at a fund, fund administrator, or Big Four/midsize public accounting firm performing fund audits.

Preferred Skills:

Working knowledge of MS Office products. Basic knowledge of Advent applications preferred. Knowledge of the Confluence financial reporting platform preferred. General knowledge and understanding of portfolio accounting and the investment management industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong team-oriented, leadership, and organizational skills. CPA preferred.
