Duties Manage the full cycle of grant financial activities, including budgeting, expense tracking, and reconciliation Prepare and review financial reports related to grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements Conduct detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank statements Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and securities law where applicable Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and other accounting tools to process transactions and generate reports Assist with audit preparations by providing supporting documentation and explanations for grant-related transactions Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to inform strategic decision-making Maintain comprehensive records of all grant-related financial activities, including journal entries, account analyses, and compliance documentation Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred Extensive experience in non-profit accounting or governmental financial management Strong knowledge of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles Proficiency with financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), including advanced functions like VLOOKUP and data analysis tools Familiarity with regulatory compliance accounting standards like SOX and LIHTC regulations Experience with financial statement preparation, report writing, and interpretation of financial data Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations and bank reconciliations accurately Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger reconciliation Strong organizational skills with the ability to mentor team members and support continuous process improvements in a fast-paced environment We are seeking a candidate who will work on a short-term project with the opportunity to get hired for a full-time position or similar arrangement.
