In this energetic role, you will manage the financial records for multiple residential properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Your expertise will support the financial health of our portfolio, enabling us to deliver exceptional living experiences for residents and value for stakeholders. Duties Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform detailed general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy across all financial data. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining precise records. Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify cash balances and identify discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures. Oversee compliance with regulatory reporting requirements such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Utilize advanced accounting software like Yardi, , QuickBooks, Resman, or similar platforms to streamline financial management tasks. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making for property operations. Support internal audits by preparing documentation and facilitating audit procedures related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards. Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate financial data entry and reporting while mentoring junior staff members on best practices in accounting. Help create our accounting work flow Assist with payables Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting within the real estate or property management industry is highly preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP principles combined with practical knowledge of financial concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and accrual accounting. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including HUD, and governmental accounting standards. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, or Resman is essential. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing and interpretation to support management decisions effectively. Knowledge of tax regulations related to real estate investments or non-profit housing programs is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform cash flow analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation confidently. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts while maintaining high accuracy standards. Experience mentoring team members or providing training on complex accounting procedures is desirable.
