This role requires a self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with cross-functional finance teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong experience with the full accounting close cycle, payroll and benefits accounting, and maintaining a strong internal control environment. This is a contract assignment of approximately 12 months with the potential for permanent opportunities based on business needs and performance. The position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week onsite in Farmers Branch, TX. Key Responsibilities Execute month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries. Perform payroll and benefits accounting, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of related transactions. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly. Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages and ensure reporting deadlines are met. Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances. Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Assess accounting treatment for transactions in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS, as applicable. Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Partner with finance and business teams to support accounting operations and reporting needs. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit requests. Support financial system reconciliations and participate in system implementations or process improvements. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls. Assist with special projects and strategic finance initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of the full month-end close process. Hands-on experience with payroll and benefits accounting. Strong understanding of financial reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments. Preferred Qualifications CPA or MBA. Public accounting experience. Experience with SAP FI/CO, Hyperion HFM, and Essbase. Knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS. Experience supporting financial system implementations and process improvement initiatives.
