Our client, a growing property management organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join a collaborative team. This hybrid role offers a mix of in-office and remote work.
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing the financial operations of a portfolio of condominium and HOA properties. This role requires strong accounting skills, organization, and experience with AppFolio. Ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports Reconcile bank, reserve, and general ledger accounts Oversee accounts payable and support accounts receivable processes Monitor collections and assist with delinquency reporting Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual budget preparation Prepare year-end financials and assist with audits and tax reporting Record journal entries and accruals Maintain accurate financial records and ensure GAAP compliance Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients on financial matters Utilize AppFolio for accounting, reporting, and workflow management Assist with process improvements and special projects
Requirements Core Requirements:
AppFolio experience (required) HOA/property management accounting experience 2-3+ years of accounting experience + relevant degree (or equivalent) Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines independently Nice to Have; Real estate/HOA accounting, budgeting, or reserve accounting experience Exposure to association boards CPA (or in progress)
