Job Description
- Start ASAP Fast-Growing Insurance Company Flexible Hybrid Schedule (2 Days Onsite) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Accountant to prepare and record complex underwriting and reinsurance journal entries.
- Prepare and record complex underwriting and reinsurance journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and contract terms.
- Analyze and interpret detailed financial data to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Manage multiple competing priorities and consistently meet strict monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced environment with changing business needs.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and reconciliation of highly detailed financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Exercise strong attention to detail while maintaining accuracy across large volumes of financial transactions and reporting activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent experience considered
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience required, with insurance or reinsurance accounting experience preferred
- Experience preparing complex journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed financial reporting required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet tight reporting deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with insurance products including Accident & Health, Life, and Property & Casualty preferred
- Experience with annual statement software (eFreedom), Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP systems preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office required
- Basic understanding of insurance company operations and reinsurance concepts preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively and adapt to changing business needs Work Environment This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence two days a week, with all members in the office on Tuesdays.
