About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join a growing consumer products company with a strong national retail presence. This role will serve as a key partner to the Controller and play a critical role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and ongoing accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is looking for a contract role with strong potential for long-term employment. Responsibilities General Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, inventory, prepaid expenses, accruals, and cash accounts Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules Analyze financial results and investigate variances Calculate and record depreciation and amortization Record daily banking activity and maintain cash-related schedules Assist with annual audits and provide supporting documentation to external auditors Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Accounts Payable & Cash Management Review accounts payable activity, aging reports, and vendor reconciliations Assist with expense management, corporate credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements Support cash forecasting and cash flow reporting Assist with sales tax filings and related reconciliations Planning & Analysis Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Prepare budget-versus-actual analyses and department reporting Assist with financial modeling and ad hoc business analysis Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to improve reporting and financial visibility Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, and inventory accounting Experience preparing audit support and working with external auditors Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid environment Preferred Experience within consumer products, apparel, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-driven businesses Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities Experience with ERP systems and accounting software Public accounting experience CPA designation or CPA-track candidate What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Comfortable owning processes and meeting deadlines Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions A strong communicator who collaborates effectively across departments Able to produce accurate, high-quality work with minimal supervision Benefits of This Opportunity Competitive hourly compensation Hybrid work environment Exposure to a growing consumer products organization Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
