Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and uphold compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will drive the integrity of our financial reporting and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies. Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor payments using financial software such as Paychex, Sage, or similar systems. Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas like VLOOKUP and pivot tables to support financial reporting and audit requirements. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by implementing effective internal controls and documenting processes thoroughly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams using HRIS platforms like Workday or UltiPro to handle payroll-related accounting tasks and employee expense reports. Assist in external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and ensuring data accuracy across accounting systems such as PeopleSoft or Oracle Financials. Support accounts receivable management through invoice processing, aging analysis, and reconciliation of customer accounts. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and financial transactions accurately. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts. Demonstrated expertise with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Familiarity with internal controls related to SOX compliance and experience working within public accounting environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in Excel data analysis including formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced spreadsheet functions for detailed analysis. Strong understanding of accounts payable automation tools such as ADP or Ceridian; experience with account reconciliation and journal entries is required. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and technical accounting tasks accurately. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments using HRIS systems like Workday or Kronos for payroll and timekeeping functions.
