SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Title Senior Accountant Job Description Are you a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, driving process improvement, and partnering with stakeholders across the business? We're looking for a Senior Record to Report (R2R) Accountant to join Sage's North America Finance Operations team. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening balance sheet governance, supporting statutory and regulatory requirements, and helping shape the future of finance through automation and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to ensure high-quality accounting outcomes and a best-in-class finance service. Overview of the Team As part of Sage's Global Finance organisation, the North America Finance Operations team manages transactional finance services across the region. The team is focused on delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information while driving operational excellence, strong controls, and continuous improvement. You'll join a collaborative environment where innovation, customer service, and process optimisation are central to how we work. The team plays a critical role in ensuring robust financial governance across Sage's North America entity structure, while constantly seeking opportunities to automate and improve processes. Office Location Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in our Lawrenceville office and 2 days from home. Key Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing;
  • Deliver accurate, timely and informative financial reporting to Finance leadership.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal reviews, postings and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain ownership of balance sheet governance, risk controls and compliance activities.
  • Review financial trends and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation, providing guidance on accounting policies and principles.
  • Ensure the correct application of IFRS standards and technical accounting requirements.
  • Support statutory and regulatory reporting activities across North America.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and operational efficiencies within the R2R function.
  • Contribute to a strong customer-focused culture that delivers value-added financial services. Experience You'll Bring
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in a Record to Report environment.
  • Proven experience delivering change, continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience producing and developing financial reporting.
  • Understanding of navigating multidimensional financial systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working within a control-focused finance environment. Desirable Experience
  • ERP experience such as SAP, Intacct, Hyperion, Oracle, BlackLine, FloQast or CXO Reporting.
  • Experience within the software or technology industry.
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards Qualifications
  • Accounting or Finance degree, recognised accounting qualification and/or Master's degree preferred.
