This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and working in a growing environment where not everything is fully defined yet. You'll partner closely with our internal team member who currently manages AP/AR and play a key role in strengthening our overall accounting function. This role is critical to helping us move from a transactional accounting approach to a more structured, reliable, and scalable financial operation. You'll play a key role in shaping how our accounting function grows moving forward. Responsibilities and Activities Own Core Accounting Functions Manage and execute the monthly close process Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, accruals, etc.) Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Build & Improve Processes Establish and document accounting workflows and procedures Improve AP/AR processes in collaboration with the current team member Implement best practices for approvals, tracking, and reporting Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions Provide Financial Visibility Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting Analyze variances and explain key drivers Support leadership with insights into financial performance and cash flow Support Team & Growth Partner with and support the AP/AR function Help train and guide team members on accounting best practices Assist in preparing for audits, tax filings, and future scaling needs What we're looking for 4-7+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a growing or fast-paced environment) Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals Experience owning or heavily contributing to month-end close Comfortable building processes from the ground up (not just following them) Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) Highly organized with strong attention to detail Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally What will make someone successful in this role You're proactive—you don't wait for perfect direction You're comfortable with some ambiguity and can bring structure to it You're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and thinking strategically You enjoy improving how things work, not just maintaining them
